Gudalur Kalyanasundaram Ramamurthy is an entrepreneur par excellence, a pharma legend, a high networth individual and a philanthropist of the highest order. Shri. G. K. Ramamurthy obtained his degree from Loyola and secured his Masters from Presidency College. A keen student of Management, he has travelled length and breadth of the world, collaborating with the best in the industry and has founded formulae which till today is a success in the pharma market. Having created wealth from his enterprise he set definite goals in undertaking philanthropy and drew inspiration from none other than the Millionaire Andrew Carnegie.
His personal philosophy :- If a person is blessed with wealth and prosperity he has no business to keep it to himself is soul stirring and motivation to many.
Thus was born G K R Charities and G K R foundation (www.gkrfoundation.com) in year 2000.
The verticals created are well defined and encompases both individual and instituitional levels- Shri G K R's philosophy is authentic and he has pioneered sustainable developmental goals much before even the UN pronounced lately in 2010.
GKR Foundation founded two schools namely
Dr G S Kalyanasundaram Matriculation School (www.drgskmatricschool.com) at Pazhaya Gudalur, in 2000 and
Dr G S Kalyanasundaram Memorial School (www.drgskcbseschool.com) at Patteswaram, Kumbakonam in 2006, to deliver excellence in education to rural space.
Shri G K Ramamurthy believes in sharing wealth, and the school is self funded. Of the many first to his credit, he is also the first one to have introduced Not for profit School' in the Educational sector, where in this is looked upon as a money spinner by many.
Shri GKR takes time off to address elite academic gatherings in various Management schools and colleges and believes in sensitizing young minds on challenges and how to face it, subtly capsuling the advanced management techniques in the minds of future leaders.
