The University of Cambridge formed the Local Examinations Syndicate, now known as Cambridge Assessment, over 150 years ago. Its aim was to raise standards in education by administering exams for people who were not members of the University and inspecting schools.
For the first time in 1858, 370 school candidates in 7 English cities sat exams set by the University of Cambridge. Today this has risen to more than 8 million candidates a year in 160 countries. The Syndicate began examining internationally in 1864, and this aspect of its work grew quickly.
The Syndicate adopted the brand name Cambridge Assessment in 2005. Cambridge Assessment operates the Universitys three exam boards and carries out leading-edge and operational research in assessment in education. It is a not-for-profit organisation.
A Cambridge Examination center plans for conducting examination to the registered candidates from different training centers. Examination center is an authorized center who can conduct workshops, webinars to the training teachers from other training centers. Examination centers work closely in association with training centers and Cambridge Assessment. Examination center will have its own Speaking Examiners, Invigilators and Trainers.
A training center is an institution which is authorized to teach the students all the four skills of a language to the learners under the guidance of Examination Center. Cambridge provides materials to training center through examination center. Training centers must have their own trainers for the required levels.

SaPa in Schools (SiS) is an in-school music education program. They have developed a special syllabus which teaches Indian classical music as part of curriculum in schools from Nursery (age 3) to Standard X. The Syllabus also provides a Global Music component which exposes children to different styles of music from around the world.
