INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2020-2021
"Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life
To inculcate leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body a school prefectorial board was formed after critical, close scrutiny and selection. The investiture ceremony for the academic year 2020-21 was held on 9th October 2020. Dr. Preethi Chandramohan, Director-ST Hospital, Kumbakonam was the guest of honour and Mr. A. Shanmuganathan, Master Chief Petty Officer (Retired), Sub Lieutenant, Indian Navy, was the chief guest.
Ms. A.M. Jayanthi, Principal, Dr. GSK Memorial School and Ms. Suganya Sivamani, Principal, Dr. GSK Matric School addressed the newly elected student council members and urged them to remain dutiful and responsible leaders.
The outgoing head boy and head girl shared their experience and expressed gratitude to the teachers and management in their speech. The newly elected prefects were given their badges by the respective school Principals. Head boy Parethe M.V of Grade 12, Dr. GSK Memorial School and Thamizhazhagan of grade 12, Dr. GSK Matriculation School led the oath taking ceremony, as the elected student representatives took oath before assuming office.
In his address, Mr. A. Shanmuganathan, the chief guest appreciated the efforts made by the school, providing opportunity to the students to take part in such activities. He also congratulated the members of the newly appointed school prefectorial board and appreciated their preparedness and readiness for taking responsibilities. He added that students should make the best use of such opportunities wherein they complement their academic performance.
Dr. Preethi Chandramohan, the guest of honour, commended the school for having thought of an innovative way to provide equal opportunities to all the students in administration and decision making.
Mr. Murali Rao, C.E.O, GKR Foundation, greeted the student leaders and added that they would most assuredly carry out their responsibilities entrusted to them in the year ahead.
Shri. G.K. Ramamurthy, Chairman, GKR Foundation mentioned the efforts taken by the school in promoting childrens democratic and social skills and offered his support for their future endeavours. His words of wisdom were highly motivational to the students. Mr. P. Ganesan, Vice Principal, Dr. GSK Matriculation School, proposed a vote of thanks.
