RYLA 2023
Interact is a service club sponsored by Rotary that provides young people with the chance to meet new people, gain leadership experience, and take part in enjoyable and meaningful service projects. Helping others is the fundamental tenet of the Rotary Interact. "Service above self" serves as the motto.
Rotary clubs and districts organise the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). It is an intense leadership programme that helps young people hone their leadership abilities while having a good time and forming fresh friendships.
Dr GSK Memorial School hosted a 3-day RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards)camp on November 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2023, involving 192 students from 13 Chennai and Dr GSK Memorial cum Matric schools. M. Sesha Sai, the Chairman of RYLA, inaugurated the camp.
Days 1 and 2 enriched the students with speakers discussing topics on "Diplomat Qualifications" by Mr.Sesha Sai, RYLA Chairman, "First impressions" by Ms.Sruthi Kothangi , "Sculpture making" by Mr.Radhakrishnan, "Logistics" by Mr.Ramesh Venkat, and "Facility Maintenance" by Mr.Kalyan Sriram.
In addition, students visited sculpture making, SASTRA University, and Airavateshwara temple for experiential learning, receiving certificates and medals for their extraordinary involvement. Traditional games and campfires emphasized values and togetherness among students. On November 5th, students bid farewell, fostering a rich experience for all.
