A Journey Through History and Poetry

A Visit to Airavatesvara Temple

As part of an experiential learning initiative, the students of Grade V went on an educational visit to the historic Airavatesvara Temple on 28.01.2025. The visit aimed to provide students with a real-world learning experience by integrating history, culture and literature.

During the visit, the poem Tamarind from their English textbook was taught in a natural setting, allowing students to connect the motif of the poem effectively. The serene ambience of the temple enriched their understanding and appreciation of the poem. The students actively engaged in discussions about the temples architectural significance and cultural heritage.

They showed great enthusiasm in exploring the intricate carvings and historical narratives associated with the site. Teachers in charge, Ms. S.G. Kavitha, Mr. Senthil Arun, Ms. Piramila, Ms. Vidhyalakshmi and Ms. Anbarasi, accompanied the students and enlightened them with language, literature, culture, architecture and nature.

The visit was an enriching experience, enhancing the students learning beyond the classroom and fostering their curiosity about history and literature.
