74th Independence Day 2020
Independence Day marks the end of British rule in 1947 and the establishment of a free and independent Indian nation. Taking this forward to the minds of the young ones we at Dr. G.S.K celebrated 74th Independence with great fervour.
God spoke in silence to the hearts and brought the souls together with the thread called patriotism which in turn united the minds together even in the times of pandemic.
The event commenced with the Prayer song sung by our school choir teachers invoking the almighty for his blessings. Our staunch Principal Ms. A. M. Jayanthi welcomed the gathering with her vibrant and positive thoughts and brought the entire gathering into her fold highlighting the essence of freedom, integration and being the true and loyal citizen of India. Her address to the teachers was the spark of the day. The symphony and the music rendition by our art academy teachers comprising mridangam, keyboard, drawing and dance enthralled the spectators through their artistic skills which soothed the minds.
Mr. Karthikeyan IPS, the chief guest of the day who presided over the function, took pride in hoisting the National flag spreading the patriotic feel across. Teachers of the department of Tamil, English and Hindi delivered eloquent speeches throwing light on the significance of being independent, rich with values as a citizen of this nation, and also reiterated the tales of the legends who fought the battles with valour and grandeur of those whose immortal souls are still connected to us. In addition to this there was address by the chief guest who insisted to follow the footprints of the great freedom fighters whose rich value still lingers in the minds and whose stories are worth reading. He expected us to feel proud to be Indian and applauded the teachers for their commitment who academically connect the students through online classes and make the nation proud. The chief guest also requested to keep social distancing and blessed us to be the futuristic trend setters in the field of education. This programme was aired online and was viewed by around 200 pupils. The success of the programme was the cooperation rendered by every individual of Dr GSK team. The programme came to an end with a vote of thanks followed by the National Anthem sung by the gathering. Thus, with gusto and the pandemic the Independence Day celebration makes its way.
